Tonight at around 1:15 AM, our network hub which hosts services and keeps the network linked together went down for a period of about 10 minutes. While the servers automatically switched hubs, there was a services downtime of around 10 minutes. We apologize for any inconvenience this might have caused.
In other network news, after a recent series of downtime, fierce.mintirc.net and gray.mintirc.net have rejoined the network. While not in the round robin, feel free to return to using them if you so desire.
Hopefully everyone had a happy and healthy New Year and we hope to see you next year as well.
We are currently experiencing issues with the network related to some strangeness with the InspIRCd software. We are working with the developers to get the issue resolved and hope to have the network restored as soon as possible. Please bear with it, there will be some netsplits and server restarts.
Update (12/11/08 6:25 PM CST): The issues have been fixed and additional steps have been taken to prevent them from happening and having profound effect in the future. We have also added additional redundancy to the network. The issues were fixed late yesterday, but I (owine) am extremely busy (final exam season, yay!) so it took me a while to update this post.
We have been encountering many unwanted bots connecting to the network recently that follow a specific pattern. This pattern has been set to be automatically banned from the network. While we try to keep our bans as specific as possible, we also must ban wider masks for efficiency. If you encounter any issues while connecting to the network, please visit our contact us page. Thanks for your cooperation.
